What is Popverdict?
A way to settle an argument by voting. Anyone with an account asks a question with two to four real answers, people vote, anyone can add a better answer, and the result appears only when the clock ends.
Do I need an account?
Not to read. You need one to vote, ask, add answers, join or start a Group or Parliament, send messages or feedback. Signing up takes one screen: Google, Apple or an e-mail code.
Why is my consent part of "Agree and continue"?
A vote can show what you think about politics, religion or other personal matters, so we need your explicit consent. You give it once, on the first screen, which says that your votes are stored and counted. You can withdraw it by writing to team@popverdict.com or by deleting your account.
Can anyone see how I voted?
No one in the app. Your choice is stored apart from your identity. The Privacy Notice explains the one technical limit.
Can I change my vote?
Yes, until the vote closes. After that it is final for everyone.
Why can I not see the count while a vote runs?
Because an early number changes how people vote. Everyone votes blind, and everyone sees the result at the same moment.
Is a result binding?
No. A result shows how the people who took part chose. It is not a legally binding vote or decision, unless an organisation decides, under its own rules, to adopt the result of its Parliament.
What is an appeal?
A new answer added to a vote that is still running. It competes with the original answers on equal terms and can win.
What are Groups and Parliaments?
A Group is a private room for friends, family or a club: you choose how each question is decided, by picking one answer, giving stars, objecting or debating. A Parliament is for a team or organisation: seats, secret votes, counter-proposals, deadlines and one clear result.
Can members of my Group see whether I voted?
They can see who has not voted yet in a vote of that room, never how anyone voted.
Is Play gambling?
No. Play is a free guessing game about closed votes. There is no stake, no payment and no prize.
How do I report or block someone?
Use Report on a vote, an answer or a profile, or the ⋯ in a conversation. Block from the person's profile or the same ⋯. Without an account, write to team@popverdict.com.
How do I ask for a review of a decision?
Write to team@popverdict.com with the subject "Review" within six months, and say why you think we got it wrong. A person looks again and tells you the outcome.
What costs money?
Colours (a coloured outline and title on your name) and Parliament plans for larger teams. Voting, asking, Groups, chambers and small Parliaments are free.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Frankfurt, Germany, with a few service providers listed in the Privacy Notice.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Write to team@popverdict.com from your account's e-mail address and we send you a copy.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete my account. Your profile, Groups, messages and history are deleted. Questions you asked stay, shown as "anonymous", and your votes stay in the counts with nothing that identifies you.
How do I reach a person?
Write to team@popverdict.com and a person answers.
